Wayne Elliott - State Masters Champion
Wayne Elliott (Shoreline Showbags) has retained the State Masters championship he won in Launceston last year. It is Wayne's 5th Masters title to leave him the dominate player in this event. After the round robin Launceston player Rodney Martin (Sunnyhill Racers) topped qualifying with Wayne Elliott and Tony Adams (Beltana Saints) = 2nd and Chris Snare (Shoreline Showbags) 4th. As this event was also the selection event for this year's Masters team to attend the national titles in NSW those top 4 players will now represent Tasmania at the Nationals.

The top four then played a final to get the final seedings for the nationals. As Wayne and Tony finished = 2nd they had to have a playoff to see who finished 2nd & 3rd which was won by Tony Adams. In the 1st Semi Final, Wayne Elliott def Chris Snare and in the 2nd Semi Final, Rodney Martin def Tony Adams. The Preliminary Final saw Wayne reverse the result of the playoff defeating Tony Adams to set up the Grand Final with Rodney Martin. Wayne proved too strong in the Final to win his 5th Masters title.

There was also a playoff for position 5, 6 & 7th in case any of the top 4 are unable to travel, this playoff was won by Barry Milburn finishing 5th and Launceston players Bruce Lockely 6th & Grant Lee 7th.
