At present I am trying to put the history of clubs in the South East into a section under the Association heading on the Menu Bar. At the moment I have a lot of information supplied for the Shoreline & the Clarence Hotels, but as you can see more info is needed to bring these upto date. If you can help me out please email me with what you have, anything would be appreciated. If I have made mistakes please let me konw & I will fix them. If you would like to see your club included please send me everything you have, especially team photo's and I will put them up on the Website. Thanks to Jill Mayne & Wayne Paul for there help with the Shoreline & Clarence Hotels.
Neil Reardon Memorial Calcutta
The main calcutta had a field of 36 players. A solid mixture of players from past and present Australian and Tasmanian Reps, to the players from all divisions of the SETEBA and the Southern Beaches Eight Ball Competition. The calcutta auction raised over $800 with the highest brought players being Anthony Adams, Jeremy McGuire and Marc Bingham.
The calcutta draw was a random draw which saw the four top players in the bottom half of the draw. This led to some great eight ball played in the quarter and semi finals. Close games in the quarter final between Marc Bingham and Ant Adams saw Ant win to play Jeremy McGuire in the semi final. The other semi final saw again Gavin Young making the Semi’s playing against Tony Adams.
Tony was victorious in the Semi with a close five set final to go into the Grand Final. Jeremy McGuire and Ant Adams had a close final with Ant playing to well for Jeremy and making it a father & son Grand Final.
Tony managed to take two frames from Ant before Ant end up winning 4-2 and almost $500 dollars in prize money. Prize money was given to the top four players with Jeremy McGuire finishing third and Adrian Young finishing fourth.
The consolation calcutta was won by Dutchy Van De Kamp who defeated Dave Hanson.
The crayfish and wine raffle raised over $330 dollars for Junior Eight Ball development. Special thanks from the Reardon Family to all the sponsors, Tony Cannan, Nick Verschuur & Joe Corney for making this day a great event in the memory of Neil.
